André is an Associate Professor of the Latin-American Institute of Technology, Infrastructure and Territory (ILATIT), at the Federal University for Latin-American Integration (UNILA), Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. Has a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, from the Federal Technology University of Paraná (UTFPR), a Master degree in Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures, from Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), and a PhD in Numerical Methods in Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). Is a permanent professor of the Graduate Program on Civil Engineering (PPGEC) at UNILA. Also collaborates with the Graduate Program on Civil and Enviromental Engineering (PPGECAM), at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) and integrates the Center for Optimization and Reliability Engineering (CORE), at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). His main lines of research are: structural mechanics, structural optimization, structural safety, probability and applied numerical methods.
