Henrique holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering by the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR) and received his MSc in Structural Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) in 2015 with a thesis on structural reliability. His research interests evolved into the fields of structural optimization and adaptive surrogate models during his PhD (2015-2019) in the Structural Engineering Department at USP. He worked as a visiting scholar at the Chair of Risk, Safety and Uncertainty Quantification at ETH Zurich (2017-2018), developing a methodology for efficient solution of time-variant risk optimization problems. Since 2019, Henrique is a professor of numerical methods and structural engineering at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). His teaching and research interests are computational methods for structural engineering, structural optimization, uncertainty quantification, reliability and sensitivity analysis, and reliability-based design optimization, among others.
